Frequently Asked Questions — 8kW Solar Pakistan

Should I choose 8kW or stay at 6kW?

If your home has a 2 ton AC, or if you plan to add one, choose 8kW. The Solis 6kW inverter is borderline for a 2 ton AC — it will work but offers no headroom. The Solis 8kW is comfortably rated for 2 ton AC and adds meaningful capacity for growth. The price difference (Rs. 150,000–250,000) pays back through higher generation within 2 years for most 2 ton AC users.

Can I add more panels to an 8kW Solis inverter?

Yes. The Solis S6-EH1P 8kW accepts up to 16kW of panels across two MPPT inputs. Starting with 10 panels (6.5kW), you can add up to 14 more panels later without changing the inverter. This gives significant room to grow as your electricity costs rise or loads increase. Most 8kW customers add 2–4 panels within 18 months.

Is one 5kWh battery enough for an 8kW system?

One Dyness 5kWh battery covers lights, fans, and a fridge for 6–8 hours of load shedding. If you also run the 2 ton AC at night, the battery lasts 2–3 hours. For families that want overnight AC coverage, 2 × 5kWh (10kWh total) is recommended. The Solis 8kW supports up to 3 Dyness batteries in parallel, so you can add more later.

How long does an 8kW system take to install?

A 10-panel system typically takes 1 day in Faisalabad. Twelve panels may require 2 visits if the roof layout requires extra cable runs. Installation includes GI structure assembly, panel mounting, DC wiring, inverter wall-mounting, DB box with MCBs/changeovers, battery connection, 3-pit earthing, and commissioning with Solis Cloud app setup.
